Why I started this

Small business owners deserve better than a templated agency build.

Most small business websites I look at fall into one of two camps. Either it's a $300 template from someone offshore, with stock photos and a contact form that goes nowhere. Or it's a $10,000 agency build that took six months, looks expensive, and still doesn't bring in customers.

You shouldn't have to pick between those two. There's a third option: a developer who actually knows what they're doing, charges a fair price, and personally cares whether the site brings you work.

That's what Arclight is. A single developer running a small studio with five or six active clients at a time. I keep the roster small on purpose — it's the only way to do this properly.

How I work

Five things I'm not willing to compromise on.

You hire me, you get me.

No bait-and-switch. The person you message is the person designing, coding, writing the copy, optimising the SEO, and pushing the deploy. I respond personally, usually within the hour.

Speed without cutting corners.

Most sites go live in 5 to 7 days from approved brief. That's not because I'm rushing — it's because there's no waiting in queues, no internal handoffs, no committee feedback rounds. One person, focused work.

Sites that bring in customers.

A site that looks beautiful but doesn't generate enquiries is a failure. Every project starts with the question: what action do we want a visitor to take? Then everything — copy, layout, CTAs, structure — is built around making that action obvious.

Honest pricing, no lock-in.

Every package is month-to-month with the exception of Pro + Web (which includes a free build, so the 12-month commitment is fair). I'd rather keep clients because the work is good than because they can't leave.

I'll tell you straight.

If you ask me whether something will work and I think it won't, I'll say so. If you don't need the package you're looking at, I'll point you to the cheaper one. Long-term trust beats a short-term sale.
